This is a complete course of study providing education and training which allows the student to learn the law of torts as the law applies to insurance coverage and insurance claims on the way to becoming certified as an Expert in Corporate Liability Insurance.  The course covers everything an employee, officer, or director of a corporation (or an officer or agent of an insurer) needs to know about tort law as it applies to liability insurance. It is the purpose of liability insurance to protect those people and entities insured against claims they were damaged by the insured’s tortious conduct.  

This course covers the following:

  1. Understanding the law of torts to understand the promises made by a liability insurance policy, and how to deal with the claims for damages.
  2. How a tort can state a claim for damages is important to every liability insurance policy.
  3. The defenses available to claims of damages caused by a tort are essential to the promises made by the liability policy.
  4. The elements needed to prove an insured caused tort damages to another are essential to being an expert on liability insurance and its promises.
  5. The elements needed to prove defenses to a claim an insured caused tort damages to another are essential to being an expert on liability insurance and its promises.
