This course prepares participants to begin running data analysis on databases. Both univariate and multivariate analysis are covered with a particular focus on regression analysis. Regression analysis is done in Excel, SAS, and Stata to give viewers a sense of familiarity with a variety of different software package structures. The focus in this course is on financial data though the techniques are also applicable to more general forms of data like that used in marketing or management analyses.

Highly knowledgeable instructor, I found the first 3 programs in this BI series very interesting. This one however gets too deep into statistical methods -- too deep to be considered informational but not nearly deep enough (due to time constraints) to be instructional at a level that you could utilize the techniques. Makes me think I need to retake my stats class.

What is this question ? The Altman Z statistic measures the efficiency of a firm’s marketing efforts over the past: The Altman Z score is about the probability of bankruptcy in the next two years... It has nothing to do with measuring marketing efforts .. How is this an exam question ?

The course had good information about the different types of aspects of the regression analysis and good definitions. I think the showing of the regression outputs and reports didn't really do much for me as the explanation didn't help. Went a little fast at that point.

This course provided a great overview of data analysis fundamentals. Admittedly, data analysis isn't my strong suite; however, I have a great appreciation for the insights it provides, so I found this course to be a good refresher in building my data analysis acumen.

This was a lot of information to cover in one class in enough depth to get a clear understanding of the topic. The information was useful for a broad overview. I would have liked to have the copy of the excel file so that I could follow along with the instructor.

Of Michael's Business Intelligence lessons, this was by far the most technical and a bit of a departure from other theory-based lessons; as a result, it was less relevant for me as I'm looking to gain an overview of data analytics principles.

Course helped to explain predictive statistical techniques. Was a nice refresher of topics covered in our grad school statistics course. Felt a little bit like an ad for other software platforms that won't ever be covered in this series.

This seemed to be highly repetitive of the earlier courses for Business Intelligence, with an over emphasis on using Stata. An example that is walked through would have been more useful that screenshots for stata inputs/setup.

4
Member's Profile
A deep and technical dive into Data Analysis techniques such as: univariate analysis, regression analysis, advanced regression analysis. As well as giving an overview of various statistical techniques (z-score, etc).

3

It was a lot of content for a one-hour course. Would have preferred to have a one hour course to better cover methodology with examples, then maybe get into Strata and SAS in a follow-up course.

3
Member's Profile
The course provides a very high level introduction of data analysis methods but the review questions or the exam questions are not as straight forward as covered by the handout or the recording.

3
Member's Profile
Completely correct and accurate, but a bit more sophisticated and academic for most simple business analysis. More applicable if working with large scale sophisticated analysis projects.

5
Member's Profile
Very thorough on how to use statistical analysis and other types of analysis for analyzing different types of data. Excellent job tying the information back to real-world application.

There was a little bit of duplicated information between this lesson and past lessons, but overall the information was helpful and taught specific techniques and vocabulary.

I wish that the course was just slides. I think having a live screen where what he is saying is actually being done would be really engaging for those trying to learn.

4

Good course, a little difficult because it is a bit technical for non statistical professionals or auditors who have not been exposed to data analysis at such level.

4

Slides were informative, but not descriptive enough to use to study for final exam. Did we really need to see the coding for SATA or SAS in several of the slides?

3

Excellent information in this course but your exam was so far off base and there is no way, even though you say there is, to review missed answers on the exam.

I like it veru much, with a seneebof learning more about stadistics, is such a great tool to analyse, and if i get enough expertise it wilk be very valuable.

A little hard to follow if you have never done a regression analysis. Having an easy sample regression and walking through all the steps would help.
