While I found the perspectives presented to be valid and useful, I could not dispel the thought that an old, unhealthy behavior/thought pattern is overcome only when one finds something new and better whose attractiveness exceeds the old patterns (Thomas Chalmers "The Expulsive Power of a New Affection"). I think addressing this school of thought would add depth to the content.
