I thought Erik did a good job of covering the basics of the statement of cash flows in a short amount of time, but I wish that the final exam had been a better test of the viewer's knowledge. The questions were very basic and I would've much preferred being given a balance sheet/income statement and forced to construct a statement of cash flows that way. Still, I thought the instruction throughout was clear and the layout of the course made sense.
This was a good high level overview of the cashflow statement. I think the instructor did a good job of making it make sense. The one thing I would improve on would be the actual presentation of the material - manually working through it as on a white board was slow and a little distracting. It also made it difficult to go back and review pieces that I wanted to see again. Slides would be a little easier to navigate.
I was never taught to use that worksheet when originally learning the statement of cash flows, so it honestly confused me more. The course itself was easy and straightforward, but since I learned it a different way it wasn't as useful to me. I can see how this would be a great way to introduce students to the statement of cash flows for the first time.
One of the best explanations of the the cash flow statement that I have seen--his logic helps me better understand the cash flow statement from an intuitive perspective.
Also, I didn't really like the floating box around the text. The workbook PDF also should be in a PDF form, Excel or something that I wouldn't need to print out to complete.
I recommend this class because Eric Slayter was easy to follow. The pacing of the class was just right. This class should be taken by anyone who wants a basic understanding of the cash flow statement. He also helped users understand how to compare companies using basic analysis on the statements.
Excellent class. It brings the cashflow to the basic level. I thought I knew cash flow well but I learned new tricks and instead of just doing the mechanics, I actually understood why certain things are handled the way they are. I really also liked the columnar presentation.
Very good course with solid foundation for fundamentals. One thought for improvement is to add multiple quizzes with differing questions, the material was great, quiz was challenging (but only one with only 3 challenging questions) and the exam was simple in comparison.
This was a good introductory class on the Statement of Cash Flows. My only criticism is that to get a full understanding you will need an intermediate class as the example used in this class is very rudimentary and not reflective of real world cash flow statements.
Nice way to summarize key concepts of CF Stmt. and not overly complex as to quickly review and solidify knowledge an experienced acocuntant should already know. Also, if learning for first time this will have you able to prepare a statement by the end. Excellent!
Cash flows are difficult if you don't do them all the time. Practice, Practice, Practice to get to the point of excellence. The materials for this course are perfect to refresh your skills and allow users to refresh their knowledge on the topic.
Great intro or overview course for the statement of cash flows. The instructor does a good job of covering all of the sections and provides a high level overview with good examples and a step by step process for creating a statement of cash flows.
Cash flow statements are very confusing as I do not work with them on a daily basis, if ever. The more practice the better you get at it. However this course is a very high level refresher course and is good as a high level reminder.
Not a fan of the presentation software used to present the material - the hand written notes are hard to read and creates a lag between the information presented. Overall, decent material for basic cash flow introduction.
I loved how clear and simple the walkthrough was! Although the real world has slightly more complication to it as a foundation Mr. Slayter couldn't have made it any easier. Where was he when I was in school?
I have taken coirses by Erik before. I enjoy the way we teaches just as if we were in a class room with a big white board. Way to go Erik. Great Course for understanding the sources and uses of cash.

Very basic, high level review of the statement of cash flows. Covers all of the key concepts. The worksheet used is a bit different in layout than what I'm used to but is effective at teaching the concepts.
Good presentation of this important piece of the financials. While I liked the white board providing a classroom effect, I found a little difficult to read. Maybe you can use Excel to make it cleaner?
This course expalins the layout & purpose of th CFS. The worksheet was very helpful in ubnderstanding the CFS, and clearly showed how the changes in assets, liabilities, equity affects the statement.
This course made it very easy to follow how items appear on the statement of cash flows. Would definitely recommend if you are new to the statement of cash flows, or are just looking for a refresher.

I got some good tips on preparing the cash flow statement. He explained the reasoning for each gain or loss, addition or subtraction in a way that made common sense - at least to an accountant.
This course is too basic to take as CPE for a CPA. I would also suggest during the instruction to make the notes more formalized if you are going to teach how to prepare a financial statement.
Great course for those looking to get a better understanding of the cash flow statement. The questions at the end were very technical and made you you apply what you learned from the course.
Filled out presentation materials to review would have been nice. Waiting on the words to be written out was slow. Prepared slides that auto populated would be better. Also more legible.
It was a good overview of the statement of cash flows. The example was simple but very straightforward. It would be helpful to have a harder set of financial statements to practice on.
I really enjoyed Erik Slayter's class. This was a very good, clear, and concise explanation of the statement of cash flows. Erik is articulate and he explains the information fully.
I have never seen this material presented this way and really liked it! The Dividend equation revealed in the review questions would have been helpful in the actual material.
Good refresher on how to create a statement of cash flows - my current duties haven't had me doing it but I may be doing it in the future so it was good to revisit this.

Very good basic overview of the cash flow statement. This is a great refresher and starting point for taking over the preperation of the CF statement for my company.
This would be good for a beginner to the Statement, would prefer you have something more advanced that I could have Sr. Analyst who prepares the CF Statement take.
I like how he described the operating section of the cash flow statement. Also, he gave a good example of why the statement is important to assess a business.
Very succinct review of cashflows at a slightly slow pace. Good for beginners. A little slow for more experienced or those like me looking for a quick review.

Very Good simple explanation of the logic and flow of the Cash Flow Statement. Mr. Slayter explained non-intuitive concepts in a clear manner.
Great instructor! Enjoyed the hands-on way he taught the course. Liked the way he explained each item and went more in-depth when necessary.
Presentation materials where somewhat helpful but the PDF did not provide the worked out figures for one to reference for practice and review.
Quick and concise overview of key concepts that is great for accountants who do not work with the statement of cash flows on a regular basis.

I thought Mr. Slater did a great job explaining the Statement of Cash Flows and I especially liked the real time construction of it.
Very similar to the other course, by Erik Slayter, regarding Cash Flows. I was hoping it would be different (w/ different examples.)
I did not like how the example was laid out. I believe you should have one lesson on Operating / Investing / Financing separately.
good basic level statement of cash flow intro. Some clarification on indirect or direct operating statement in the test questions
Instruction was very clear, and the worksheet showing the allocation of Operating, Investing and Financing will prove very useful

Like the topic was relevant. Time allotted was great. Speaker spoke clearly and covered the topic more than once to clarify.

Would like to see the answers of the exam so that you can understand which were wrong and why.
The format for examples is helpful conceptually but difficult to read due to messy handwriting.
