Many of us already know that having a growth mindset means that we believe our natural talents and abilities can be developed, whereas with a fixed mindset we believe that they can not. This course goes much deeper than this surface-level description of what constitutes a growth mindset, suggesting that we never just have either a growth or a fixed mindset, rather they work on a continuum.
We begin by identifying why we should develop a growth mindset in the ever-changing world that we live in. We then go a level deeper to explore the importance of our beliefs and where we are putting our focus, before considering how all of this impacts on how we relate to making mistakes, receiving feedback, applying effort, and overcoming challenges.
By completing this course, you will more easily be able to switch off your internal ‘auto-pilot’ system to consciously reflect on whether your thinking is more growth or fixed, with the knowledge to continuously challenge how you can develop more of a growth mindset, more of the time.
