This course provides organizational and human resource (HR) leaders with an overview of diversity, inclusion, and the legal and practical aspect of the concepts. The course identifies, defines, and explores the terms "diversity" and "inclusion." It provides a brief overview of affirmative action, including details and law created by pivotal court cases.  Ideas for dismantling the barriers to diversity and inclusion are provided. Practical and actual Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims which arose when organizations ignored the importance of creating inclusive, diverse, environments are analyzed.

Hiring managers, managers of teams, human resource practitioners, people looking to prepare for HR certification exams, or executive team members will benefit from taking this course. It explains how making the workplace inclusive can reduce discrimination claims and workplace bullying, while increasing employee engagement. Leaders whose organizations need more diversity should take the course. Other learning benefits include understanding why and when courts get involved in running organizations through affirmative action plans, as well as exploring the ethical dilemmas involved when creating a more diverse work environment.
