In this course you learn why the communication skills that took you to your current position are no longer enough to move your career forward.

We examine how quickly you communicate to your audience. It’s measured in seconds, not minutes, and much of that communication takes place without using words. You’ll learn how to put that to use to your professional advantage.

You learn to see yourself how others see you in your organization and marketplace—and learn practical steps to change, enhance, or expand that perception. We discuss what causes confusion in your communication—and how to eliminate it.

We also discuss how to focus your attention on determining the target perception you want others in your organization and the larger marketplace to have of you—and how to create that perception. And finally, we tap into the power of understanding the nature of change and the role that plays in changing the perception others have of you as you position yourself for larger leadership roles in your organization and your industry.

Learning Objectives
  • Identify the speed with which people form perceptions of their leaders
  • Explore the five primary ways we communicate in the workplace
  • Discover the most common communication gaps that undermine leadership effectiveness
  • Identify the target perceptions you want others in your organization and industry to have of you
  • Identify the five areas of change you must navigate in order to effectively change other people’s perceptions

Really practical course. Extremely relevant for my current growth target. Worth investing as much time as required to get the most out of it (pause the course and really spend the time on the exercises). If you put in enough work, you will gain a whole strategy in your work life, for the rest of your life.

Good visuals and presentation. Interesting and engaging. I liked the honest emphasis on perception and the impact that it has on our personal and professional lives (and the fact that we can, and should, manage ourselves in a way that projects the message and perception that we are intending to convey).

This course is excellent! Some of the best concepts and advice on communication and the importance of communication for those in the top of their organizations. I feel very empowered to improve in certain areas of non-verbal communications. All of the advice was outstanding!
