A complete course of study providing education and training to allow the student, to learn how to complete a thorough investigation of a third-party liability claim and how to evaluate the claim against the insured to resolve the claim to the satisfaction of an insurer and the insured. It also provides a representation of an insured to be aware of what is required of an insured to allow an insurer to complete a thorough investigation to obtain the defense and indemnity promised by the policy.

  3. Understanding the damages available to a claimant who believes he or she was injured by the insured’s negligence.

  4. What is required to complete a thorough investigation.

  5. Why the insured is required to assist the insurer in completing a thorough investigation.

  6. Why it is essential that the claims person evaluates the potential liability of the insured.

  7. Understanding the various types of special and general damages.

  8. Liability and comparative negligence.

  9. The importance of venue and jurisdiction.

  10. Understanding the importance of the plaintiff and defendant and their lawyers.

  11. Dealing with the importance of the nature of the injuries.

  12. Understanding the importance of judicial review.

  13. Consideration for an early settlement.

  14. The duty owed by the insurer to the insured.

  15. The duty of the insured to the insurer.
