Al Cochran recently was named CFO of Amendia, Inc. and Vivex Biomedical, Inc.; sister companies engaged in the medical device and biomaterial sectors. Amendia is a leading provider of innovative Class II and Class III medical devices used in spinal surgical procedures including spinal fixation systems, implants and instruments. Vivex was spun out of Amendia to focus on innovation of advanced biomaterials and deliver creative treatment options and solutions that advance clinical, surgical and therapeutic care. He brings his significant public company experience to support the strategic opportunities of both companies.

Prior to joining Amendia and Vivex, Mr. Cochran was CFO of Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. He joined Greenway in November 2009; led a successful public offering in early 2012; directed the strategies to support Greenway’s requirements for growth and development as a publicly traded company and in late 2013 led the financial aspects of a transaction culminating in the sale of Greenway to a private equity group. Recognizing his accomplishments, the Atlanta Business Chronicle named him 2012 CFO of the Year for medium-sized public companies.

Prior to joining Greenway, Mr. Cochran was with TurboChef Technologies, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations from October 2007 until TurboChef’s merger with The Middleby Corporation and served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer October 2003 to October 2007. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of PracticeWorks, Inc. from its formation in August 2000 until its acquisition by The Eastman Kodak Company in October 2003. He was VitalWorks Inc.’s Chief Financial Officer from August 1999 to March 2001, when he resigned from all positions with VitalWorks upon completion of the spin-off of PracticeWorks from VitalWorks. From 1992 until joining VitalWorks, Mr. Cochran was a member of the accounting firm of BDO Seidman, LLP, serving as a partner since 1995. Mr. Cochran has also served on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Delta Apparel, Inc. since his appointment in December 2008.

Mr. Cochran is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from Georgia State University.
