Lynn Fountain, MBA CGMA CRMA Former Chief Audit Executive
In this innovative two-hour session Lynn Fountain teaches an interactive, highly participative session which will provide individuals the opportunity to understand and apply their understanding of the five-step model to specific scenario cases. Unlike traditional webinars where it can be hard to try out techniques as the instructor is teaching, this session will have purposeful breaks for you to try out techniques on your own.

This course is designed as an interactive participative session which will provide individuals the opportunity to understand and apply their understanding of the five-step model to specific scenario cases. We will use scenarios from multiple industries to illustrate the various considerations and elements that must be in place. Participants will be provided with scenario facts and then evaluate those facts to identify the proper accounting treatment.

The course will begin with a basic overview of the five-step model and then utilize real-life scenarios to assist the participant in applying their understanding of the requirements. We will work through a scenario for each of the five steps of the revenue recognition model:

Step 1: Identify the contract.

Step 2: Identify separate performance obligations.

Step 3: Determine the transaction price.

Step 4: Allocate the transaction price to the separate performance obligations.

Step 5: Recognize revenue when the entity satisfies a performance obligation.
