Description
Delegation is a skill. It is sharing authority and responsibility as a team leader with the team members. But delegating does not mean dumping personal responsibility on to others. Delegating tasks can lighten your workload. There is a proverb that says, “The more heads working together, the better”. Because we both know we have unique skills. There are things you can do that others can’t do and vice versa. Delegating tasks allows team members to learn new skills and develop a sense of responsibility. Employees who feel that they are trusted and respected tend to have a higher level of commitment to their work, their organisation, and, especially, their managers. Remember that delegating empowers your team and builds trust.
Once the session is completed, you will be able to define the meaning of delegation, identify tips in delegating tasks effectively and adopt the strategies leaders must use to delegate tasks effectively for the success of the team.
