Description

This course will cover the benefits of and basic requirements to qualify for Cash Flow hedge accounting treatment under ASC815 for currency risk.  Specifically addressed are required documentation, effectiveness testing and measurement concepts, and qualifying hedge items.  A brief example of hedge accounting debits and credits will be used to visualize the timing benefits afforded by special hedge accounting.

This is an introduction course for individuals who want to build a foundation with an understanding of the vocabulary and concepts of hedge accounting guidance.  The topic is much too voluminous to cover in a single hour but the course will touch on the most relevant aspects and risk areas of Cash Flow Hedge Accounting that must be addressed to maintain this advantageous accounting treatment.
