CARNIVAL: How to Audit Electronic Chart and Display and Information System (ECDIS)

This course contains a brief overview of the functions and use of ECDIS in Voyage Planning and the difference between Electronic Navigation Charts (ENC) and Raster Navigation Charts (RNC) when they are used in the ECDIS system. It covers the important issues that a Maritime Auditor must inspect during an ISM and HESS Internal Audit. 

It must be used in conjunction with the MAR 1301 Voyage Planning process contained in Global HESS which must be read and understood by the student prior to taking the final test. 

The Student must read the MAR 1301 process in Global HESS and complete Lesson 1 – An Introduction to ECDIS and Lesson 2 – Differences between ENC and RNC documents before you begin the video section of the course.
