Within our jobs, all of us have reviews of some kind. They may be annual, bi-annual or monthly and they may have a variety of titles – annual review, appraisal, performance review.

Some of us may also be trained in how to best conduct a review with staff members.

The annual review is the most important meeting of the year- your pay may be decided, you could discuss your bonus or areas that are key to the success of the business.

Despite the important many do not spend the time planning, setting out results-based achievements nor what they want to achieve in the following year. Too often we are passive and let our manager drive the process.
