Mark’s finance background started with traditional accounting & analysis roles, but really built experience with an ‘outside-in’ approach by becoming heavily engaged in revenue generation, marketing, operations and M&A – with his roles and assignments taking him to 140+ cities in 15 countries. Along the way, Mark has served in roles in business development and marketing, which further helped to deepen his business view to become a better finance executive. He often shares the view that ‘finance is the punchline, with sales and operations being the set-up’, and that to be a good finance executive that you must work to understand the business like the CEO.

Prior to RBA, Mark held a global marketing role at SAP, focusing on cloud-based offering for customer engagement, commerce and finance. He was a start-up CFO for 5 years working across multiple industries, SVP Finance for the Royal Bank of Canada’s U.S. Wealth Management division and International Finance for Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
