Michael McDonald, Ph.D. President, Morning Investments
In this innovative two-hour session expert Michael McDonald brings a new approach to learning the fundamentals of analyzing data in Excel. Unlike traditional webinars where it can be hard to try out techniques as the instructor is teaching, this session will have purposeful breaks for you to try out techniques on your own.

Excel is a versatile tool that can be used for a lot of advanced data analysis projects – if you know how to use the various supplemental add-ons and features. This in-depth 2 hour webinar walks participants through the critical elements of performing advanced analysis in excel.

Throughout this event, every technique is carefully explained and demonstrated, first, on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps, providing context, and then in Excel, at a ‘follow-along’ pace as you do the steps at the same time.

Interacting with the instructor is encouraged and one-on-one attention is given, just as in a live training session. This is the closest you can get to ‘live classroom’ instruction while not having to leave your place of work.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How to gather and clean a compiled dataset from disparate sources
  • How to identify and flag outliers in data
  • How to compute correlations between variables
  • How to turn non-numerical qualitative data into numerical data that can be effectively analyzed with statistics
  • How to perform basic regressions in excel for use in finding hidden relationships between business decisions
  • How to run t-tests and other statistics to make informed business decisions based on data

By the end of the webinar, participants will be equipped to perform complex analysis on a variety of types of data and draw inferences based on the data to make business decisions effectively.
